The big-kid bed

Nathan got to sleep in his big-kid bed for the first time last night. Susan’s brother brought the frame down from Helena, where it had been in storage, and we got his bedroom all set up. He was interested in the bed from the first, and climbed in and out of it for about an hour. He seemed very comfortable, but I got a bit worried when he didn’t want to go to bed on time.

Turned out that was just a little extra energy. He burned that off by about 10:15 (!) and finally went to bed at about the same time we did. I suppose the bed must have been comfortable: he spent the next nine or so hours in it. Susan said he woke up a couple of times during the night but managed to lull hismself back to sleep. That meant that Susan and I got to sleep alone (a rarity) and that Nate didn’t wake up until about 7:45.

I’ll get a picture of the bed posted as soon as I can.

That’s so fun! Eden moved into her big girl bed right around her 2nd birthday. We never had any issues with her crib, so we kept her in there until she started climbing out! It’s definitely fun to see them growing up!

Can’t wait to see pictures of Nathan in his big boy bed. Hope to get to see you when I come up this summer. Should be going up Aug. 9.

  4. The bed seems to be working out pretty well. Last night, Sunday night, was the first night in a while that he’s slept for any significant length of time in mommy and daddy’s bed.

Just checked out your latest photos. I love #888. They are all cute. I love bucket hats on little kids. Too cute.
