… Susan and I conceived the idea of having a baby, and it was good. Kidding aside (and puns too), this is the start of our baby blog. Right now, that’s what it’s called because we haven’t thought of anything better and more witty to call it.
Susan, being the mother, will join me as a writer on the blog as soon as she joins WordPress.com. In the meantime, I wanted to kick start things with this first post to let all those who stumble across it know what we intend to do.
Some couples have baby books–I’m sure we will too, but since I study things like blogs and new forms of writing and since I’m a journalist right now, it seemed only natural to take the baby book one step further and publish it to the world.
I don’t know exactly what will come of it all, but barring EMP attacks by nutty terrorists, this blog should serve as a chronicle for our child to read in the years to come. Maybe in reading it, he or she will find some insight into who his or her parents were before the birth. Also, our families and friends will have a convenient way of keeping up with things from afar, like photos and news and updates. That’s the hope, anyhow.
And if the world gets some enjoyment out of this odyssey, that’s all right too.
